Frequently Asked Questions
-
At Nature Pups, we love all animals! We have experience with dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, reptiles/amphibians, fish, chickens, and other livestock!
-
Hiking trails provide a much more lively and invigorating experience for dogs. With the varying terrain, sounds, and smells, your dog gets the physical and mental work they need to prosper. Our packs form a bond, not only with their walker, but with each other, and are carefully evaluated and grouped for success. We try to take the trail less traveled, as busy dog parks come with unknown dogs that may have behavioral or health concerns. Throughout every hike we practice our recall, manners, and friendly greetings should we ever run into other groups on the trails.
-
Yes, we embrace nature in all forms! The forested trails provide a lot of relief from unpleasant high temperatures, and precipitation you might experience walking around your neighborhood sidewalks.
We are sure to take cool-down or swim breaks, as well as adjust the distance or intensity of the hikes for safety.
Pups will always be cleaned/dried off to the best of our abilities before being brought back home. If the weather is ever too severe for safe travel, we will notify you.
-
We only offer in-home sitting for your animals. Staying in their own home while you are away, eases some of the stress that comes with boarding. Plus, they get to spend this time with someone they already know and trust!
-
For our hikes, we always carry poop bags and high-value treats. If your pup has any allergies then we do ask you to provide us with some treats for reward purposes. We don’t allow or bring any toys on our hikes or walks as they can be distracting, lead to resource guarding with others, or potentially get lost. Before any in-home sittings, we will go over the locations of your animal’s special treats, toys, and equipment so that we can have a successful time together!
-
Your pups will need at least a collar or harness so we can all be secured when necessary. We walk exclusively using our Tiny Horse lead system, so no need to worry about providing a leash! As far as skills, we welcome both on and off-leash dogs. However, they must be well behaved around other dogs, humans, and wildlife.
